Mike joined Espy Lumber in June 1982 as an outside salesman, becoming General Manager in 1986 and Vice President of the company in 1993. On July 1st 2013 Mike was appointed President by the Board of Directors of Espy Lumber Co.
He was born in Macon, Georgia, grew up in Vidalia, and attended Valdosta State College where his studies focused on business and marketing.
Mike has been active in both community and industry affairs: Point Comfort Property Owners Association (Board Member 1993-1994; President 1994-1995, 2000-2001, 2006-2007; ARB Member 2000 to present), Hilton Head Home Builders Association (Board of Directors, Associate Council Vice President 1995, Associate of the Year 1995), SBMA (Board of Directors), State Director for Home Builders Association 1998, Hilton Head Baseball Association (Board of Directors), BMSA Board of Directors from 2016-2022, and Dixie Youth Baseball (Coach). He is a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.
