Rod McLeod, President and Owner

Rod has been President and CEO of Espy Lumber since the purchase of the company in 1979 from the Estate of Wesley Espy, the company founder.

He grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, and graduated from MIT with a degree in Electrical Engineering and earned his MBA at the Harvard Business School.

Rod has served on a variety of boards over the years. Community service boards include Rotary Club, Savannah Chapter of the American Red Cross, Georgia Public Radio, Savannah Chamber of Commerce, the Executives Association, and past President of the St. Andrew's Society. Also, he serves as a Director of the SunTrust Bank of Savannah and of Roper Brothers Lumber Company as well as past Chairman and Director of Southern Building Materials Association, a trade organization for lumber dealers in South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, and Tennessee.

Mike Reeves, Vice President & General Manager

Mike joined Espy Lumber in June 1982 as an outside salesman, becoming General Manager in 1986 and Vice President of the company in 1993.

He was born in Macon, Georgia, grew up in Vidalia, and attended Valdosta State College where his studies focused on business and marketing.

Mike has been active in both community and industry affairs: Point Comfort Property Owners Association (Board Member 1993-1994, President 1994-1995, ARB Member 2000 to present), Hilton Head Home Builders Association (Board of Directors, Associate Council Vice President 1995, Associate of the Year 1995), SBMA (Board of Directors), State Director for Home Builders Association 1998, Hilton Head Baseball Association (Board of Directors), and Dixie Youth Baseball (Coach). He is a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church.

Don Owens, Millwork Development Manager

Don joined Espy in 1979 as an outside sales rep. After a brief absence he returned in 1987 as the Millwork Development Manager responsible for all millwork programs, product education, architectural support, and shop support.

Born in Savannah, he grew up in Pembroke, GA. He graduated from Georgia Southern College in 1978 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree.

His community activities include: Member First Baptist Church (Past Chairman of Church Daycare Committee, Vision and Growth Committee), Past Member Hilton Head Island Jaycees (Most Outstanding Member 1983, President 1984), Delta Tau Delta Fraternity alumnus, Member Georgia Master 4-H Club, Georgia 4-H Camp Councilor Association, Recreation League Softball Coach.

Kevin Wagner, Okatie Location Manager

Kevin joined Espy Lumber in 1990 as the Hilton Head Showroom Manager where he was directly responsible for all facets of the showroom including purchasing, inventory, receiving, and merchandising. When the Okatie yard was opened in 2001, he assumed the responsibilities of location manager there.

He was born in Jersey City, NJ. He attended Monmouth College in West Long Branch, NJ. Kevin's sales experience dates back to 1981. Kevin has lived in the Hilton Head area for 10 years. He is an avid sports fan and enjoys getting all employees involved.

Nancy Phillips, Controller

Nancy joined Espy Lumber in June 1996 as the Controller. Her responsibilities include management of all financial reporting, accounts payable, payroll, inventory management, personnel and data processing.

She was born in Camden, NJ but grew up in High Point, NC. She attended Davidson County Community College in Lexington, NC, where she received an Associate's Degree in Electronic Data Processing with high honors in 1983. Nancy also earned the Fellow Life Management Institute designation in 1995.

Nancy has made her home in the Hilton Head/Bluffton area since 1983. Some of her community activities include: Bluffton United Methodist Church (Member of the Board of Trustees, 1992-1995 and Financial Secretary, 1993-1994). She has also served as a Sunday School teacher and Sunday School Superintendent.
